LIFESTYLE | Buying something special, for someone special

This year has had some great highlights. I married my Hubs, we had some great weekend trips together and spent a week in Spain with all of our family and friends. Naturally, it has also had some terrible lows – the hardest being the death of my father-in-law last month.

When Hubs and I got married, my family grew to include his, and my family have been fantastic in welcoming them in. We’ve been together for 7 years and as time drew closer to our big day I realised that my mother and father in law were two of the most amazing people and that I was truly blessed to be joining their family.

In the last few months, my mother-in-law (MIL) has conducted herself so admirably and shown incredible strength. She continued to work, while being her husbands primary carer until a week before he passed. No matter who you lose, the holidays and family events are always the hardest, especially the first ones and my family have tried to make MIL and Hubs have a nice Christmas.

So when Halifax Bank asked me if I would like an extra £50 to spend on someone special this Christmas, I immediately thought of her. I was sent an Amazon voucher in the post and proceeded to buy some additional presents for her. I used the voucher to buy the following:

Special extgras

Yankee Candles Clean Cotton Large Candle / Baylis & Harding Skin Spa Cherry Blossom, Oriental Lilly & Lotus / OXO Good Grips Hand Held Mandoline Slicer / 2014 Hippo Calendar

I’d like to say a big thank you to Halifax for their generosity.

Who would you buy something special for?
