It’s not often I do a beauty haul, in fact I don’t think I have before, so would love to hear what you think. Chemist4U kindly got in contact and asked me if I’d like to review some bits. Let’s see how I got on.
Vera Wang Princess Perfume EDT 50ml
I was bought Princess by Vera Wang as a gift a year or so ago, and it quickly became a favourite. Suffice to say, that bottle is long gone. So when I saw the bargain price (£19.49), re-buying it was a no brainer.
It’s a beautiful fragrance, floral and fresh with a slight sweetness to it. It’s playful, yet elegant and I don’t feel like I’m too old to wear it. I know this sounds stupid, but I think sweet fragrances are more youthful. As you get older you gravitate to more musky mature fragrances like Viktor and Rolf’s Flowerbomb or the Marmite of all perfumes – Angel by Thierry Mugler. FYI I love Angel and have a stockpile.
Macadamia hair treatment oil
My hair has been in the best condition I’ve seen it for years. It’s soft, shiny and doesn’t get greasy too quickly. It has taken me years to get to this point. However, the cold weather and central heating has left the ends feeling really dry and knotty. Time to call in a good hair oil.
Due to the thin and fine nature of my hair, oils can really weigh it down and make it greasy, so I’ve had to move away from Argon oil and the like. However, Macadamia oil appears to be a lot more suited to my hair. A small drop goes a long way and is absorbed very easily, without any residue. At just £3.99 it’s a bargain in a bottle.
Macadamia hair masque 250ml
The other thing I’ve noticed recently hair-wise, is that the regular hair masque that I’ve been using for years, is no longer giving the same results. My hair still feels soft, but my hair doesn’t last and I need to wash my hair again a day or so later.
I think this is due to a few things. For one I last coloured the ends of my hair back in April/May, when I had a disastrous balayage. Since then apart from conditioning temporary crazy colours, I’ve only had my roots done. Having less damaged hair combined with washing/styling it less often and regular trims has seen a vast improvement.
I needed a new option for my hair masque, so again I turned to Macadamia Oil. You simply leave the masque on for 5-10 minuets. I like to put a plastic bag over my hair and then cover it with a warm towel. I find this gives a better result for my hair. The masque leaves is soft and shining, my style lasts as it doesn’t leave my hair heavy and it lasts much longer between washes.
I’d recommend having a browse at Chemist4u, they have a lot of hidden gems at great prices.
